Building a More Meaningful Career
An average person spends approximately 11, 000 days at work during their life. Some of them change jobs more frequently, others prefer keeping to their workplaces because of the number of reasons such as financial security, appropriate qualifications and other “excuses”. Did you know that about 30 million people go to the work they hate? They are angry and nervous before they depart, during their time at work and after they finish their working day. Negative feelings penetrate deeply into their life putting them under constant stress. There is no doubt, the changes are necessary if this is the case with you.
Job can bring satisfaction and pleasure and life can be a dream!
Be sincere with yourself. What are you most interested in and what are your hobbies and talents? What things are of the greatest priority to you in your life? What do you want from your life and your job? Your answers may become the starting point for positive changes in your life.
Make your talents count. We all have certain inborn abilities and talents, which may seem very ordinary to us, but which are unique and important. Are you a skillful drawer, manager, singer, writer? Combining your skill with your everyday work is the key to being happy.
Others can do you and so can you. Before trying every change seems to be very difficult. But if not to try, you will never learn whether or not you can do it. Even if your job is financially very rewarding, but emotionally draining, don’t be afraid that the only alternative is to find a job that brings pleasure but not money. Life is full of opportunities, and THERE ARE jobs that will suit your both financially and emotionally.
Make a decision. A lot of people hesitate their entire life and never come to make a change. Inaction never helps. Research on the career you are interested in, consult a good career-management professional, set a goal, define the steps to be taken to achieve your goal and go on!
